The Academic Program for 2013

The first music classes to be established are vocal studies, piano, strings, oud, nay, kanun and music pedagogy.

Theory and musicology will include: performance history, music education and outreach, music psychology, music technology, theory of harmony, ethnomusicology, music theory, music analysis, reflections on traditions and musical characteristics of oriental and especially Palestinian music.

The schedule will include multimedia events and innovative presentations, together with music projects in Palestine and other countries.

Furthermore the university will offer chamber music and orchestra workshops for music students as well as chorus courses open to all students of Al-Quds University.

A yearly held summer academy will provide young musicians from all around the world the opportunity for advanced study, intensive performance and cultural exchange with guest professors and performers  from Palestine and abroad.
